Columnist, photographer and historian of the automobile, historic car driver Alain has a passion for cars and mechanics since his teenage years. A greedy reader, he reads and learns about everything that travels and is particularly interested in the history of the automobile. For more than 40 years, Alain has worked as a technical translator, a career that has taken him from the private sector to the public sector, as a translator and then as a manager. In the early 1980s, he founded his own translation firm in Ottawa, specializing in the automotive sector. Since living in Quebec, Alain has moved to automotive journalism and has co-hosted the TV shows Le Guide de l’auto (Canal Vox) and Take the wheel (Canal Évasion). Alain has signed for six years the retrospective column published in La Presse. He regularly collaborates with La Vie de l’Auto (Paris, France) and PanoramItalia (Montreal, Toronto). Faithful to his passion, Alain devotes his leisure time to the collector car, collaborates in the organization of meetings and attends national and international events related to the classic automobile. He knows many collectors, enthusiastically participates in historic car races at the wheel of his Fiat Abarth 1000 TC 1964, supported by Manon, his sweet half and faithful ‘pit crew’.

Automotive Journalist, Photographer and Historian, Vintage Race Car Driver Alain has been passionate about automobiles and all things mechanical since his teenage years. He is an avid reader and holds a special interest for the history of the automobile. Alain has worked as a professional technical translator and manager of translation services for 40 years in both the private and public sectors. In the early 80s, he founded his own translation firm in Ottawa, specializing in the automotive field. In the late 1990’s, Alain moved to Quebec and and has taken on automotive journalism. He was co-host of a TV series Le Guide de l’auto on Canal Vox, followed by Prenez le volant, a series of 26 shows on Canal Évasion. For six years, Alain has also published Rétroviseur, a weekly column on vintage cars and automotive history, in La Presse. He is a regular contributor to La Vie de l’Auto (Paris, France) and PanoramItalia (Montreal, Toronto). Alain covers several international events such as the Amelia Island Concours d’élégance, the Lime Rock Vintage Festival, the Watkins Glen Vintage Festival, the Mille Miglia. True to his passion for cars, Alain helps organizing collectible automobile events and maintains his small car collection. He attends numerous vintage car shows locally and abroad and promotes vintage car racing in Quebec. His circle of friends includes several car collectors and vintage racers against whom he competes in his 1964 Fiat Abarth 1000 TC with the precious assistance of Manon, his faithful ‘pit crew’ and much better half.
